The staff at the Keowee Fire Department spent most of Friday morning preparing for what is predicted to be the 1st winter storm of the season. The staff was busy running and topping off all the fuel in the chain saws, generators, and emergency lighting. The community is encouraged to stay at home and off the roads unless absolutely necessary to travel. Any power outages should be reported to Duke Energy at 1-800-Power-on and all Fire and Medical Emergency should be reported by dialing 911.
